In United States of America the following plugs are used:

... and in Thailand you will use:

Plug Type A Plug Type C
Outlet Type A Outlet Type C



Different Voltages

You will not be able to use your electrical aparatus using a simple plug adapter. You will need either an transformer or an elevator.

Some connectors are used in both countries. Perhaps you need to get advices about what connectors are used exactly in the city, region were are you going to. At third world countries its common not to have a standard plug system all over the country. Anyway, as a rule of thumb, it will be easy to get adapters to different plug systems used within the country.

No equal hertz

This is not a big issue. Unless you are using an electric alarm clock and you have to wake up early!. Explanation: Some alarm clocks (not the battery powered ones, the ones that you have to plug to the wall outlet) uses the frequency of electricity to measure time.
